Howes, Secretary <br /> <br />January 17, 1995 <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Local Health Directors <br />FROM:~'~ ~,~'~N~_ man, Branch Head <br /> L_.-~\ '~h~dl~ood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Reimbursement for Confirmed Childhood Lead Poisoning Cases (>20 ug/dl) & <br /> Availabilty of Lead-Related Training Funds for Local Health Department Staff <br /> <br /> Provided below is a county-by-county listing of the number of confirmed cases of lead <br />poisoning, 20 micrograms per deciliter (ug/dL) or greater, among children less than six years old from <br />October 1,1994through December 31, 1994. In total, there were 40 confirmed cases reported in 24 <br />counties during this quarter. Two additional cases were reported for the previous quarter and are <br />included in this listing. Each county listed is eligible for $1,200reimbursement for each case identified. <br />To receive this .allocation, eligible counties must complete and return the enclosed purchase and <br />contracts budget page. <br /> <br /> In addition, $500 is available to all 100 counties for lead-related training of two local health <br />department staff each year. In order to receive these funds, counties must complete the training <br />reimbursement form and return it to this office with receipt(s) indicating the training course(s) attended <br />and the date(s) of attendance.
