~ COMMUNITY SERVICE COUNCIL, INC.p.O. Box 631 <br /> <br /> SALISBURY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />The CSBG allocation for Rowan/Cabarrus counties is $201,574.00. CAPP funds <br />$19,923 and Emergency Homeless Funds is $11,568. The total allocation amount <br />is $233,065. <br /> <br />Previous allocation amount $152,787. 1995-1996 Fiscal year funds allocated <br />$233,065, an increase of $80,278. The CSBG Funds for Cabarrus County is <br />$66,621. CAPP allocation is $9,301 and Emergency Homeless $4,856. <br /> <br />The programs CSBG provides to assist iow-income participants, including the <br />elderly and the poor: <br /> <br />1. To secure and retain meaningful employment <br />2. To attain an adequate education <br />3. To make better use of available income <br />4. To obtain and maintain adequate housing and a suitable living enviroment <br />5. To obtain emergency assistance through loans or grants, to meet immediate <br /> and urgent individual and family needs, including the need for health <br /> services, nutritious food, housing, and employment related assistance. <br />6. To remove obstacles and solve problems which block the achievement of self- <br /> sufficiency <br />7. To achieve greater participation in the affairs of the community <br />8. To make more effective use of other programs related to the puurpose of <br /> having major impact on the causes of poverty in the community or areas <br /> of community, where poverty is an acute problem. These activities have <br /> been limited to: <br /> <br />Employment <br />Housing <br />Education <br />Income Management <br />Emergency Assistance <br />Nutrition <br />Self-Sufficiency <br />Information & Referral <br /> <br />Three (3) Board members will be added to the current SRCSC, Inc., Board of Directors: <br />representing the Public, Private, and Low-Income (Poor) community. <br /> <br />AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br /> <br /> <br />
