PROGRAM SUMMARY <br /> <br /> Statementofthe Problem: ~conc~eterminology,~scribethejuyenilejusticeproblemthepro~aminten&toaddress. <br />Many high risk youth'come to the attention of the courts. Most have need of psychological <br />assessment, individual, group, and/or family counseling, .as well as, case management. ~ny,, <br />have substance abuse and School problems along with behavioral and emotional difficulties. <br />There is also a significant need for assessment and treatment of sexually aggressive youth. <br />Without intervention, the p~oblems experienced by these youth and their families will incre <br /> <br />Pro~ramGoal:Statetheeffectthatthepr~ramis ~s~nedtohaveonsotvfngtheproblem ~scribedabove. <br />1) Continue to provide comprehensive Mental Health and Substance Abuse treatment services <br />for Cabarrus County CBA eligible clients and families referred by the Juvenile Court. <br />2) Maintain placement of the primary contact person in the courthouse facility thereby <br />ensuring accessibility for consultation and familiarity with clients and court proceedings." <br />3) Continue assessment and treatment of sexually aggressive youth in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Target Population: Describetheta~etp~u~tf~nandthest~sthatthepr~gramhasta~nt~insurethattheta~etp~ulat~nisse~.e~ <br />CBA funding is used to provide services to youth referred and authorized by the Juvenile Cour <br />counselo!s. These youth are between the ages of 7 and 17 years and exhibit delinquent <br />(including sexual offenses), pre-delinquent, and/or significant substance abuse problems. <br /> <br />Measurable Object~e(s): State~ measurab~ ~rms~e~n~deffect~eprogramon~ec~cundisc¢l~edan~or~l~quent <br />behaviors. ~tam~um, s~teant~a~dre~ctio~ ~courtreferra~ ~nawaybeh~io~andschoolsu~ens~andexpu~io~. <br />1~ The program will service approximately 28-32 clients at any time with a total of 80-96 <br />y~uth'receiving services. <br />2) 50 percent of youth involved in services will complete and show reduction in negative <br />behavior (i.e. runaway behavior, s~hool suspensions and expulsions). <br />3) Training School admission of youth in program will decrease or continue to be less than <br />10% for clients completing program. <br />4) Monitoring will be done through use Of all approved CBA forms. <br /> <br />Information Maintainedfor Effectiveness Measurement: L~tthe ~me&men~andrecordstheprogram willma&mMto <br />~cumenti~effectiveness. <br />Data collection on involvement and frequency as well as treatment outcomes is collected. On <br />youth who become clients of Piedmont Area Mental Health, treatment records will be kept the <br />are in compliance with Division of MH/MR/SAS and CBA standards. All CBA forms for reporting_ <br />billing and progress will be used. <br /> <br /> <br />
