Potential Sources of Future Supply

WSACC has retained Boyle Engineering Col~oration to conduct a water and sewer master plan. The Water
System Master Plan will evaluate improvements that are needed in the distribution system. The Water System
Master Plan will also model TTHM production in the distribution system to predict TTIffM levels. The plan is
scheduled for completion in early 1995.

Currently, a new reservoir and WTP are being constructed on Coddle Creek (latitude 35°26'07TM, longitude ·
80°41 '42") west of Concord. This WTP is being constructed by Concord primarily for its own use. The
reservoir is owned by Cabarms County. The plant will have a 12 mgd capacity and will be used in conjunction
with Concord's existing WTP. No other major water facilities are currently planned in Cabarrus County.

Future Wastewater Discharge Information

The sewer system master plan mentioned above will also indicate where wastewater facility improvements are -
needed. The plan is scheduled for completion in early 1995. Also, plans am under way to serve the Midlan~ds'-~-~
area with a 75,000 gpd WWTP on Muddy Creek in southeast Cabarrus County.

Assistance Needed

At this time no unmet needs have been identified that would require assistance from outside the county.

System Map

Appendix B is a map of Cabarrus County showing service areas, intake locations, emergency wells, and the
location of water and wastewater facilities for both present and future conditions. The intake for Karma. ~ olis at
Second Creek is well north of Cabarms County, and is not shown on the map. ~

A
