Pilkington ~ <br /> <br />Justification for PHN I Position <br /> <br />The elimination of the vacant PHN I position from the FY 96 county budget will <br />result in a loss of revenues and a reduction in services to high risk infants and <br />children. Currently, four (4) nurses are on extended maternity or medical leaves. In <br />addition, the normal workload for the nursing staff is constantly increasing beyond <br />reasonable service limits. Therefore, it is not possible for anyone to fill the job <br />responsibilities of this eliminated PHN I position. <br /> <br />COST OF PHN I POSITION: <br />Salary and Fringe Benefits: $38,235.00 <br /> <br />REVENUES SUPPORTING PHN I POSITION: <br />Medicaid Revenues Generated By Home Visits Made by PHN I: $31,536.00 ($54.00/visit x 584 visits) <br /> $ 6,699.00 Funding can be attributed to a variety of sources including <br /> federal/state grants and county monies. <br /> <br />IMPACT OF ELIMINATING PHN t POSITION: <br />-584 home visits to high risk infants and children will not occur <br />-Revenues for Child Care Coordination should be reduced $31,536.00 <br />-Possible increase in county's infant mortality rate and impact on community's <br />well being because of decrease in casefinding of children with developmental delays. <br /> <br /> <br />
