PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, water is a basic and essential need for all life; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, over 300 miles of streams flow in Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, trash fouls our waterways as well as our landscapes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, every community has the responsibility to insure that its waterways run <br />clean and pure, and free from all pollutants, including trash; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, thousands of volunteers collect hundreds of tons of trash annually from <br />North Carolina's waterways on the third Saturday of September in the nation's largest Big <br />Sweep state cleanup effort; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, I, Jeffrey L. Bamhart, by the authority invested in me as Chairman of <br />the Board of County Commissioners in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, do hereby proclaim <br />Saturday, September 16, 1995 as the date for <br /> <br />First Citizens Bank Big Sweep <br /> <br />in Cabarrus County and urge every citizen to do his or her part to restore the beauty and <br />function of our lakes and streams. <br /> <br />In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of Cabarrus County to be <br />affixed. <br /> <br />Signature <br /> <br />Date <br /> <br /> <br />
