-- FROM : Cabarrus Count~ Home Health Agencg SEP, 13.1995 3:43 PM P 2 <br /> <br /> NEWS RELEASE FOR <br />CABARRUS COUNTY HOME HEALTH <br /> <br />Contact: <br /> <br />JoAnn Reed, Director <br /> <br />(704) 758-8150 <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY HOME HEALTH RECEIVES ACCREDITATION <br /> WITH COMMENDATION FROM JOINT COMMISSION <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Home Health has been Accredited with Commendation by the Joint Commission <br />on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, This. ls the hlghest level of'accreditation awarded <br />by the Joint Commission, which is the nation's oldest and largest accrediting body. <br /> <br />Formed in 1951, the $oint Commission is dedicated to improving the quality of the nation's health <br />care through voluntary accreditation. The Joint Comraission's on-site survey of Cabarrus County <br />Home Health occurred in May. <br /> <br />"Receiving Accreditation with Commendation is a significant achievement, one that recognizes <br />exemplary performance by Cabarrus Gounty Home Health," says Dennis S. O'Leary, M.D., <br />president, loint Commission. "The organization should be commended for its commitment to <br />providing quality care to the people in its community." <br /> <br />"We are extremely pleased tO have achieved this designation," says JoAnn Reed, Director. <br />"Everyone here goes the extra mile on a day-to-day basis to provide the best possible health care <br />to our patients." <br /> <br />~'oAnn Reed, Director says accreditation shows that "we make a significant investment in quality <br />on a day-to-day basis from the top down. We seek accreditation for our organization because we <br />want to be the best and we view obtaining the ~toint Commission accreditation as another step <br />toward exc, ellence." <br /> <br />She notes that accreditation is attainable only through cooperation and communication among <br />staff`members. "Everyone here at Cabarms County Home Health plays a valuable role in working <br />to meet the standards. I think it gives them a feeling of prestige to work in an accredited <br />organlzation," says JoAnn Reed, "They also appreciate the educational aspect of the survey and <br />the opportunity to interact with the Joint Commission surveyor. <br /> <br /> <br />
