Box 707
Concord, NC 28026

Dear Sherri:

Thank you for conducting the bid for the truck for the Department of Aging's Weatherization
and Home Improvement Program. As always, your assistance has made this process very simple
for us while doing a very professional job.

As we discussed Wednesday, I am requesting that we are allowed to purchase the truck from
Hilbish Motor Company based on the prices quoted in this bid. I reali?e that it is common
practice to re-hid in a situation where we only receive two responses. However, since you
distributed request for bid packages to such a complete list of vendors and both of the quotes
that we received are within our approved budget, I do not think we will receive a better price
if we wait for a second bid. Furthermore, the Hilbish Ford bid specifies that the price is only
to apply to trucks that are in stock. If we walt we may receive a bid that is more expensive.
Please let me know if I can offer any assistance. If you need more justification or for me to
discuss this purchase with the Board of Commissioners, I will gladly do anything necessary.

Again, thank you for your cooperation and assistance. Please advise how we should proceed.

Sincerely,

Michael L.
