Meeting Date: 10/2/95 CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Agenda Item SUBJECT: Revise IS Fcc Schedule for compliance with the amended North Carolina Public Records Law. Chapter 388 of the 1995 Session Laws (Senate Bill 426) becomes effective October 1, 1995. The revised IS schedule reflects the following changes as required by thc amended NC Public Records Law. · Provide public records and information free or at minimal cost. Where minimal cost is the actual cost of reproducing the information. G.S. 132-1 (b) · Furnish copies o£public information as promptly as possible. (S.S. 132-6(a) · Purpose or motive of data request is not required. G.S. 132-6(b) · Providc data on any mcdia we are eapable ofproviding, G.S.132-6,2.(a) · Charge a service charge for ext,nsive use of information technology resources or personnel. G.S. 132-6.2(b) · Rexlnim data requests to be submitted in writing. G.S. 132-6.2(c) · All denied data requests will be accompanied by an explanation of the denial. GS. 132-6.2(c) · As a condition of providing electronic GIS data, the County may require the requester to agree in writing that the copy will not be resold or otherwise used for trade or commercial purposes.
