RULE .1634 ASSESSMENT MONITORING <br /> <br /> (a) Assessment monitoring is required whenever <br /> <br />OR <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />a statistically significant increase over background has <br />been detected for one or more co~stituents listed in <br />Appendix I <br /> <br />whenever a violation of the North Carolina Gro~,-dwater <br />Quality Standards has occurred (15A NCAC 2L .0202) <br /> <br />Rule .1633(c) <br /> <br />If the owner or operator determines that there is <br />statistically signific~-t increase over background <br />for one or more of the constituents listed in <br />Appendix I of this Rule at ~ monitoring well at <br />the releva-t point of compli~nce, the owner or <br />operator: <br /> <br />(1) Shall, within 14 days of this finding, <br /> <br />- report to the Division <br /> <br />- place a notice in the operating record <br /> <br />indicating which constituents have shown statistically <br />significant changes from background levels~ <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Shall establish ~ assessment monitoring program meeting <br />the requirements of this Section within 90 days <br />(S-mple for Appendix II constituents) <br /> <br />(3) Demonstrate <br /> <br />that a source other th~- a MSWLF unit caused the <br />contamination OR <br /> <br />that the statistically significant increase <br />resulted from error in sampling, analysis, <br />statistical evaluation, or natural variation in <br />ground-water quality <br /> <br /> <br />
