CLARA HARRIS SCHOOL PROPERTY
Corban Avenue

General description:

This site would mean a new building constructed for the Parks &
Recreation Department on property now owned by the Cabarrus
County Board of Education.

The site contains an older building now being used by Rowan-
Cabarrus Community College and slated to be used by a pre-school
program. Shared use of the property by the Parks & Recreation
Department would not be a detriment to either use. Parking is
~mple.

A new building would be constructed, using General Services
labor, for approximately $80,000. The building would contain 7
offices, a conference room and a work room.

Advantages:

· Central location, convenient to major population centers for
public meetings, registration, etc.

· Ample public and employee parking and sidewalks currently on-
site. Ail utilities available.

· County-owned property (Board of Education).

Disadvantages:

· Lack of curb visibility. This problem can be addressed by
adequate signage at the Corban Avenue entrance.
