Cabarrus County <br />Sports Authority Coordinator <br /> <br />Mission: <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Primary <br />Duties: <br /> <br />To use sports as an economic development and economic <br />impact tool. <br /> <br />To coordinate public and public-private partnerships to <br />develop diversified sports facilities for use by Cabarrus County <br />citizens and Athletic Associations. <br /> <br />To develop relationships with state, county, and city officials <br />for the procurement of land to be used in the development of <br />sports facilities. <br /> <br />To work with businesses and the Chambers of Commerce to <br />develop funding to build and maintain sports, fitness, health <br />and recreation facilities of as many different kinds and types <br />as possible, including but not limited to: <br /> > Soccer fields, <br /> > Baseball fields, <br /> > Softball fields, <br /> > Olympic swimming pools, <br /> > Running tracks, and Fitness trails. <br /> <br />To recruit international, national, state and regional sporting <br />events to Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />To develop relatonship with national and state athletic <br />organizations that could possibly bring sporting events or <br />athletic tournaments to Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />To coordinate efforts with sports organizations within the <br />county, including but not limited to, The Charlotte Motor <br />Speedway, Concord Motor Speedway, Cabarrus County <br />Parks and Recreation, Concord Parks and Recreation, and <br />the various baseball, softball, basketball and soccer <br />associations, for the use of sports facilities. <br /> <br />To apply for, accept, receive and dispense funds and grants <br />made available by federal or North Carolina agencies. <br /> <br />To receive, administer and comply with the conditions and <br />requirements respecting any gift, grant, or donation of any <br />property or money. <br /> <br /> <br />
