Cabarrus County · Page 3 Building Permit Project - Preparation of Quarterly Report. Sent out press release of new data. Began marketing effort of product. Data Center - Continued to monitor and collect statistical information relating to municipalities and counties within the Region and State. Disseminated information upon request to local governments and private sector. Continued efforts to develop County Profiles of statistical information. Regional Cable Television Administration Program - Held a meeting with local government officials to discuss possibility of establishing such a program. Proposals and scope of services were put together and mailed to local officials. Emeraency Services Activities Continued developing follow up recommendations to the Cabarrus County Criminal Justice Summit. These recommendations are being coordinated with a member of the County Commission, Sheriff and Concord Police Chief. Regional Conducted January Centralina area managers' meeting. Topic discussed was the Economic Impact Of Motor Sports In The Charlotte Region. Attend meeting of the UrbanCities Coalition to discuss crime issues in the region. Planned and conducted regional law enforcement meeting. Topic discussed: Special Legislative Crime Session. Speakers were Sis Kaplin (Governor's Crime Commission), ;Jim Woodard (SBI), Rep. Dub Dickson (N.C, General Assembly), Pat McCrory (Charlotte City Council). Began exploring the possibility of developing a regional crime reporting system in which crime would be documented by census tract. Water Related Continued planning the next meeting of the Bi-State Task Force. Continued working on Bi-State Catawba River Task Force presentation at the North American Lakes Management conference to be held in March. Participated in Catawba River Corridor Study public hearings. EMS Grant Related Began planning stages for grant year 94-95. Distributed applications for grant funds.
