Where the additional pay is paid for a longer period of time, <br />the employer may temporarily disregard the bonus and just pay overtime pay a: <br />one and one-half times the regular rates. When the additional pay can be <br />ascertained, it is apportioned back over the workweeks of the period during whizh <br />the additional pay was earned by the employee. The employee then receives <br />additional overtime for each work'week in which he/she worked overtime during <br />that period. <br /> <br />EMPLOYEE OVERTIME - GENERAL POLICY <br /> <br /> All non-exempt employees must be paid at least one and one-half times <br />his/her regular rate of pay for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. <br />However, for employees other than law enforcement and emergency medical <br />sen'ices personnel, compensatory time off xvill be given in lieu of overtime <br />compensation according to the provisions of Section 6 of the Wage and Hour <br />Policy.. Any overtime incurred by an employee must be approved through the <br />head of the department in which the overtime takes place. <br /> <br /> FLSA requires that the minimum wage for any overtime due an empioyee be <br />determined on the..basis of the hours worl~ed in each worle,veek and that the <br />compensation earned by.an employee in a particular work~veek be paid on the <br />reg-ular payday for the pa> period in which the workwee'k ends. _,-Mn employer <br />cannot average the hours of work by an employee over two or more <br />even if the employee is paid every two or more weeks. <br /> <br />SECTION 6. COMPENSATORY TIME <br /> <br /> Non-exempt employees shall receive compensv, too' time off, in lieu of overtime <br />compensation, at a rate of not less than one ;,nd o,'w-hatf hours for each hour of <br />employment under which the overtime compensation is earned.
