CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Meeting Date ,July 5, 1994 <br /> <br />Agenda Item #, ~ <br /> <br />SUBJECT: An Ordinance Adopting and Enacting a New Code for Cabarrus County <br /> <br />Municipal Code Corporation (MCC) has completed the codification of County ordinances <br />adopted by the Board of Commissioners through November 15, 1993. The ordinances were <br />reviewed by MCC to ensure accuracy and consistency with State statutes and court decisions. <br />Recommended changes were discussed with the County Attorney and staff and approved <br />changes were used by MCC in revising necessary provisions of the Code. Changes included such <br />items as follows: Added a General Provisions chapter; Substituted specific fees with time to <br />time language (schedule of fees to be maintained in County Manager's Office); Deleted specific <br />penalty to allow general penalty (GS 14-4) to apply; Updated names and titles of various <br />County and State departments; Expanded the County Facilities Ordinance to include all county <br />facilities (in addition to Courthouse) and to prohibit skating and use of skateboards on County <br />property.
