In the case of a proven leak on the customers plumbing, the customer shall be charged the amount computed using the following formula: 1. The customer shall be charged the lowest current rate based on the amount over the average water consumption for the previous twelve (12) months of occupancy, whereas applicable. 2. Adjustments for leaks are applicable only once per twelve (12) month period on water accounts No adjustment will be made on sewer accounts. Policy changes recommended 10/10/94: b. In the case of a proven leak on the customers plumbing , the customer shall be charged the amount computed using the following formula: 1. The customer shall be charged the average purchase rate charged to the District for treated water for all water used above the customer average water consumption for the previous twelve (12) months of occupancy, whereas applicable, in addition to the amount of the average bill. The rate of adjustment will be determined by an annual averaged cost of purchased water and established on July 1 each budget year. 2. Adjustments for leaks are applicable only once per twelve (12) month period on water accounts. No adjustment will be made on sewer accounts where it is proven that the water went into the sewer system. It is our opinion that our customers can be better served using this policy without a real adverse financial affect to the District. I appreciate your consideration to these changes as I need to get this proposal to the Commissioners as soon as possible.
