Page 2

After reviewing this information, I called Mr. Comber on August 11, 1994 to
fiirther discuss his present operation. In our conversation, I learned that Mr.
Comber had a dump truck in the early eighties which he use to haul various
items. Since that time, Mr. Comber has purchased five tractor trailers, leased
two additional tractor trailers and also allows friends who are in the trucking
business to park their trucks on Iris property. I informed Mr. Conner that it
was my interpretation as Zoning Administrator; that his grocery store nor his
dump truck allowed him to begin operating a trucking terminal/parking lot at
this location. I then informed Mr. Colmer that he would not be able to
continue his trucking compm~y at this location. Mr. Cromer agreed to move
his business and asked for time to find a new location. (Mr. Co,ruer had the
option to appeal my interpretation to the Board of Adjustment within thirty
(30) days. This option was forfeited on September 11, 1994,)

On August 12, 1994 Mr. Conner asked for a 60 day extension so that he
could find a proper location for Iris business. The extension was granted.

On August 15, 1994 Mr. Conner contacted me to discuss the possible
relocating of his business to the location in question.

In conclusion, I would like to clarify any misconceptions that the zoning
violation was caused by the adoption of the new Cabarets County Zoning
Ordinance. Although a trucking terminal is in violation of the new
Ordinm~ce's Medium Density Residential zoning district; it was also
operating illegally under the old Ordinance's Agricultttral Rural Residential
zotfing district.

Submitted by Mike Down~j~ ~
