December 12, 1994 I CASARRUS COUNt71 Mr. Jeff Barnhart Cabarrus County Commissioner Concord, NC 28025 Dear Mr. Barnhart: On behalf of the Cabarrus County Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee, please accept this letter as our recommendation to the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. Our recommendation includes three separate requests that will require action by the Board of Commissioners. They are: The Cabarrus County Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee respectfully requests that the Cabarrus County Department of Aging be reappointed to serve as the Lead Agency for all Home and Community Care Block Grant funding in Cabarrus County. The term of appointments to this committee be changed to serve from luly 1 to June 30. This change will allow this committee to function more efficiently since the purpose of this committee is to disburse state and federal funds for older adults in Cabarrus County. These funds are budgeted from July to June. Therefore, we are currently changing committee members in the middle of our budget process. To facilitate this change, we ask that the appointments that are to be made December 19th specify an eighteen month term. This will allow us to operate during the same time frame as the State Budget.
