Box 707
Concord, NC 28026-0707

Dear Mr. Witherspoon:

In official session on February 18 the Cabarrus County Board
of Health recommended the following addition to the Animal
Control Ordinance.

"Adult with Animal on Premises. If a responsible
adult is physically outside on the land immediately
adjacent to the animal, on the land where the owner
of the animal resides, and the animal is under the
person's direct control and is obedient to that
person's commands, then this section shall not apply
during the duration of time the animal is in the
company and under the control of that adult and the
animal is on the premises. "Adult" is defined as
eighteen (18) years of age or older."

This recommendation, if adopted, would be included as Item #2,
Article I, Section 9 "Restraint of Animals." Subsequent items
in Section 9 which already exist would simply need to be re-
numbered accordingly.

Please place this recommendation on the commissioners' agenda
for their consideration.

With best regards,

William F.
