No. 92039.00

Subject: Recommendation to Award Contract

Dear Mr. Witherspoon:

It is our recom~.endation that the Chamberlin Company be
approved as the ~eneral Contractor for the above referenced
project based on a low bid of $52,7~8. This low bid is
comprised of the Base Bid of $43,849 and Alternate Bid
of $9,209. Our firm also recommends that the area to be
waterproofed be extended from the end of Alternate G-1 to
the rear exterior wall. This will add approximately 2,518
square feet for an estimated value of $6,094 (based on the
unit price per square foot of $2.42). Also, at the Owner's
request, the General contractor will be instructed to
include material and labor to install nine (9) floor drains
in his contract at an estimated cost of $4,500 to $5,000.

This summary of work would result in an estimated contract
sum of $63,852. It should be understood that the $63,852
includes two prices ($6,094 and $5,000) not bid, but
estimated by the Architect after bidding. The scope of
work included in these two additional prices may be
adjusted as required by the Owner's budget. We will
confirm these prices from the General Contractor upon his
approval by the County.

If we can be of further assistance to you at this stage of
the project, please do no% hesitate to contact our office.

y yours,

DEY/jeh :.~, AIA
