Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 25026 <br /> <br />Dear Chairperson Carpenter: <br /> <br />More than eight months have passed since Hurricane Andrew devastated a large part oi <br />Dade County. The issues and concerns we've faced since the hurricane have been <br />overwhelming at times and our particular Department staff's effort, along with other <br />County staff's efforts have focused on the complications of the hurricane aftermath. <br />Thus, we are now only extending our formal thank you to the municipalities and counties, <br />throughout the State, who assisted Dade County. <br /> <br />As a representative of Metropolitan Dade County government, I am enclosing a <br />Commendation from the County to Cabarrus County for the provision of food, water, <br />clothing and the Christmas toys and gifts to assist us in our hurricane recovery effort. <br />Cabarrus County's immediate response in the time of our crisis was truly appreciated. <br /> <br />If possible, please arrange for this Commendation to be presented at a public forum. <br />Through this presentation, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of <br />Cabarrus County for their government's support. <br /> <br /> //~ Sincerely, <br /> <br /> Director <br /> <br />Enclosure <br /> <br />NATIONAL GOLD MEDAL AWARD WINNER FOR EXCELLENCE IN THE FIELD OF PARK AND RECREATION MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> <br />
