CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />JOb Training Activities; <br /> <br />Conducted monitoring of Cabarrus County Department of Social Services "Absent <br />Parents Employment Program" (NCETGP funded) in Concord on April 26. <br />Administrative, programmatic, and financial systems were reviewed. <br /> <br />Conducted meeting of Centralina Private Industry Council (PIC) and Job Training <br />Consortium at Centralina COG on April 6. Attended by Cabarrus County PIC <br />members (Tonia Black-Gold, Johnny Fowler, Jim Lunsford, James Polk) and <br />Consortium member Ken Payne. <br /> <br />Prepared and delivered Program Year 93 Job Training Plan to Division of <br />Employment and Training (DET) in Raleigh on April 12. <br /> <br />Received and began processing of PY 93 Request for Proposals (RFPs) from <br />potential bidders. Completed review checklists and prepared evaluation criteria <br />and comments for PIC committee review. <br /> <br /> Prepared and mailed 1993 -I'itle II-B SYETP contracts to approved bidders, <br />-including ESC-Concord 0Nork Experience) and Kannapolis City Schools <br /> (EduCational Training/Academic Enrichment). <br /> <br />Participated in National Alliance of Business/National Association of Private <br />Industry Council sponsored "PIC Leadership Institute" sessions in Durham on April <br />18-19. Also attended by Centralina PfC Chairman (Jesse Corry) and PIC members <br />Dow Perry and Harvey Edwards. <br /> <br />, Conducted North Carolina Job Training Administrators Meeting in Durham on April <br />21. At Secretary of Commerce Dave Phillips' request, prepared and sent to DET <br />information on current and future job training activities/possibilities with Freightliner <br />Corporation in Cleveland. <br /> <br />Reviewed, processed, and corrected Monthly Performance Reports from program <br />contractors. Also reviewed responses to contractor monitoring reports. <br /> <br />Provided technical assistance to JTPA contractor staff. <br /> <br />Processed Monthly Financial Status Reports and Requests for Funds from program <br />contractors. <br /> <br /> <br />
