ABOUT THE REPORT <br /> <br />The following report represents statistical information, <br />with accompanying graphs, on specific transportation <br />systems operated in North Carolina. The report reflects <br />information for Fiscal Year 1990, July 1989 through June <br />30, 1990. <br /> <br />The graphical reports were prepared by CTS Management <br />Company, a North Carolina based Corporation. The <br />information depicted in the graphs for the "Public <br />Sector", was provided by the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation. The "Private Sector" information is <br />provided by CTS Management Company. <br /> <br />The purpose of preparing this report was two fold: <br /> <br />1 - To summarize operational information on Transportation <br /> Services being provided in the State of North <br /> Carolina; <br /> <br />2 - To compare specific cost and performance measures on <br /> systems operated by the "Public Sector" to those <br /> operated by the "Private Sector". <br /> <br />It has been determined that types of services being <br />provided by the "Public" and "Private" Sectors are <br />comparable, with one exception. The systems operated by <br />the "Public Sector" are required to advertise their <br />services to the general public. <br /> <br />As a matter of record, CTS Management Company had no <br />involvement in the gathering, or compilation of the <br />information contained in the report labeled,~"FY 90 <br />Section 18 Operating Statistics". This report was <br />provided to CTS Management upon request, by the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation.
