HUNTING AND FISHING DAY <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, hunting and fishing have always been an important part of the American <br /> tradition; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />for over 100 years, hunters and anglers have been in the forefront of the <br />conservation movement, providing the impetus and the financing for many of <br />the wildlife conservation programs existing today; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />as individuals, and through their organizations, sportsmen and women <br />volunteer countless hours of their time for conservation projects and to <br />educate others about the wise management of our natural resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we commend the ethical hunters and anglers for their unselfish dedication and <br /> contributions to conservation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Governor James B. Hunt, Jr., has proclaimed September 25, 1993 as "Hunting <br /> and Fishing Day" in North Carolina. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carolyn B. Carpenter, Chairman of the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim September 25, 1993, as "Hunting and Fishing <br />Day" in Cabarrus County and call upon all the citizens of the county to recognize the role <br />of these men and women in ensuring the wise use and proper management of our natural <br />resources to benefit future generations. <br /> <br />Adopted this 7th day of September, 1993. <br /> <br />Carolyn B.
