DRAFT <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at the invitation of the Lord Mayor of Dublin and the Government of Ireland, <br />the Concord High School Band, along with four other bands from the United <br />States, has been selected to represent our country in Dublin's Annual Saint <br />Patrick's Day Parade in March of 1994; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Saint Patrick's Day Parade is an international event which will showcase <br />a select group of marching units from Ireland, the United States, and several <br />other European countries; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Concord High School Band will also serve as Musical Ambassadors to <br /> Concord's sister city - Killarney, Ireland; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the trip to the Ireland will be a unique educational opportunity for the <br /> members of the Concord High School Band; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Concord Band Boosters are sponsoring IRELAND FOREVER, a project <br />to help finance the cost of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Concord <br />High School Band members. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby support the Concord High's Band trip to Ireland as Musical <br />Ambassadors from our community and encourage the citizens and businesses of our <br />community to support the fund raising efforts of the Concord Band Boosters and/or to make <br />a direct contribution to this trip for the Concord High School Band. <br /> <br />Witness my hand and official seal this the 20th day of September, 1993. <br /> <br />Carolyn B.
