ANIMAL CONTROL LICENSING SYSTEM

The "Animal Control Licensing System" approved by the Board of Commissioners on
November 15, 1993 requires the adoption of an amendment to the Animal Control
Ordinance. This amendment would (1) set the license year from July 1 to June 30 and (2)
eliminate the provision for the 50% license fee for animal owners qualifying for a partial
year's license. To proceed with the implementation of the system approved on November
15, the Board would need to adopt the following amendment to the Animal Control
Ordinance at this time.

CURRENT ORDINANCE

ARTICLE I, SECTION 5. LICENSING AND PERMITS

(2)

The license fee for fertile dogs and cats shall be twelve dollars ($12.00) per year.
The license fee for sterilized dogs and cats shall be five dollars ($5.00) per year. If
a person who is not a resident of Cabarms County on January 1, or any resident who
becomes the owner of a dog or cat after April 15 purchases a license tag after April
15 for the remainder of that current license year, then the cost of that license tag
shall be one-half (50%) of the cost of a license tag and shall apply whether the
dog/puppy or cat/kitten is fertile or sterilized.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT

ARTICI.I:.
