CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />Job Training Activities <br /> <br />Conducted meeting of Centralina Private Industry Council (PIC) and Job Training <br />Consortium at Centralina COG on October 12. Attended by Cabarrus County PIC <br />members (James Polk, Tonia Black-Gold). <br /> <br />Conducted meeting with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College officials in Concord on <br />October 14 regarding staffing for job training funding activities at South campus during <br />current fiscal year. <br /> <br />Participated in meeting of Cabarrus County Department of Social Services JOBS Task <br />Force in Concord on October 7. <br /> <br />Participated in Cabarrus County Food Stamps Employment and Training Program meeting <br />at EeC-Concord office on October 14. <br /> <br />Attended and participated in meeting of Interagency Coordinating Committee of <br />Governor's Commission on Workforce Preparedness in Raleigh on October 5. <br /> <br />Attended North Carolina's Employment, Education, and Training Partnership Conference <br />in Greensboro on October 20-22. Accepted (on behalf on the PIC and Consortium)the <br />Governor's Award for Excellence for the Cabarru$ County DSS "JOBS FOR DADS" <br />program at conference banquet. <br /> <br />Conducted planning strategy meetings with ESC and NCDOL local staff regarding job <br />training operations in the Centralina SDA on October 18 and 26. <br /> <br />Conducted meeting of SDA Directors and DET staff in Burlington on October 8 regarding <br />proposed Training Institute. <br /> <br />Participated in North Carolina Comprehensive Economic Development Planning workshop <br />in Charlotte on October 27. Discussed local area needs for workforce development. <br /> <br />Reviewed, processed, and corrected Monthly Performance Reports from program <br />contractors. <br /> <br />Provided technical assistance to JTPA/NCETGP contractor staff. <br /> <br />Processed Monthly Financial Status Reports and Requests for Funds from program <br />contractors. <br /> <br />Aging Activities <br /> <br />HOME AND COMMUNITYCARE BLOCK GRANT SERVICES (HCCBG) <br /> <br />Facilitated the third meeting and developed materials for the Home and Community Care <br />Block Grant (HCCBG) Advisory Committee/Nutrition Task Force to examine nutrition <br />issues for older adults in Cabarrus County. Drafted the Task Force Report to the HCCBG <br />Advisory Committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
