Box 707 Concord, NC 28026-0707 Dear John: In a regular meeting rescheduled for November 17, 1993, the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission took action on the following items: In the first item on the agenda under old business, the Parks and Recreation Commission discussed in great detail the proposed relocation of the Parks and Recreation Department to Frank Liske Park. The Parks and Recreation Commission approved to request an agenda place on the December 6 meeting of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. The Commission voiced their support for a good central location such as the old Clara Harris School Site. Commission Chairman Giles Goodman and 2nd Vice-Chairman Celie Richardson will jointly present this request before the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners on December 6th. In the second item on the agenda, the Commission approved a plan to address the Cabarrus County and Kannapolis Boards of Education on December 13 seeking their support for a school-park concept. The Commission also suggested the establishment of a task force to study how to develop these school parks. The Commission discussed the development of Park Bond Proposal to go with the May School Bond Referendum. The 1991 Parks and Recreation Master Plan recommends for the county to go for two $3 million bonds to develop two large district parks and greenways. The Commission indicated the Master Plan would serve as the capital plan, but also notes that the school-park issue could change or modify these plans. In the first agenda item under new business, the Commission approved the five nominations for the three positions on the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission. On September 3, 1991, Glenn Troutman was appointed to represent A.T.Allen-Wolf Meadow School Districts. On September 26, 1991, the Parks and Recreation Commission recommended the feasibility of changing the Commission's representatives from school districts to a township composition.
