MEET THE COURTS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Judge Adam Grant has requested approval to submit a grant application to the <br />Cannon Foundation, Inc. for funds in the amount of $12,000 to be used to purchase <br />audiovisual equipment for the Meet the Courts and Law Enforcement Program. The <br />estimated cost of the equipment, which will include television monitors and projection <br />equipment, is approximately $15,000. The $12,000 in grant funds will be used with $3,000 <br />in County funds already included in the Courts budget to purchase the necessary <br />equipment. <br /> <br /> The equipment is requested for the Meet the Courts and Law Enforcement <br />Program which is presented to all ninth graders in the two school systems. There are <br />approximately 1,400 students who will attend the program in groups of 200. In addition, <br />this equipment will be available for use with other programs. <br /> <br /> It is requested at this time that the Board authorize the submission of an <br />application to the Cannon Foundation, Inc., for $12,000 in grant funds to be used with <br />$3,000 in budgeted County funds to purchase the television monitors and projection <br />equipment for the Meet the Courts and Law Enforcement Program. <br /> <br /> <br />
