CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />PLANNING INTERN <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: <br /> <br />An employee in this class performs general planning and zoning <br />tasks under close supervision with the emphasis on development of <br />that individual on the practical aspects of planning while applying <br />the academic principles and theories. <br /> <br />ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK: <br /> <br />Assist in the update and correcting of addresses throughout <br />Cabarrus County, particularly Kannapolis; <br /> <br />Reponds to requests for information by the public; <br /> <br />Assists planners in a variety of projects; <br /> <br />Performs related duties as required. <br /> <br />.~QUIRED KNOWLEDGE~ SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: <br /> <br />Basic knowledge of planning principles; strong work ethics, <br />knowledge in addressing or ability to learn, ability to work <br />closely with others both within department and throughout the <br />County; ability to express ideas effectively both orally and in <br />writing. <br /> <br />ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: <br /> <br />Coursework in planning or a related field with Master degree <br />candidates preferred. <br /> <br /> <br />
