Kos~ Director Department of Aging January 21, 1992 RE: Home and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan It is very important we get this matter of the Home Care and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan settled. In order to expedite the time-frame Jim Cook, Jerry Newton, Sharon Ritchie and I met on January 13, 1992 to coordinate plans for implementing the grant. The consensus of the group is as follows: Recommend the Board of County Commissioners designate Region F, Area Agency on Aging as the lead agency in administrating the grant. The contract will clearly state the AAA will administer the contract for one year only. At which time the Cabarrus County Department of Aging will assume administration of the grant. Recommend using the existing Region F County Planning Task Force Committee as a core group to function as a resource to the lead agency to provide input from a broad range of community interests and guidance into the content of the County Aging Plan. Members of the County Planning Task Force Committee are: Donna Udovich Larry Taylor Jim Cook * Sharon Ritchie * Department of Aging Staff Jan Roman Sue Casper Paul Griffith * Eleanor Koski There are a number of other activities which must be scheduled for the grant to progress. However, the designation of the lead agency and the appointment of the Block Grant Advisory Committee are the most pressing.
