STATE OR NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF CABARRUS RESOLUTION WHEREAS, General Statute 105-286(a)(2) requires all real property be appraised at least once every eight years; and WHEREAS, the same statute allows any county that desires to conduct an earlier revaluation may do so upon adoption of a resolution so providing; and WHEREAS, this Board desires to advance the scheduled revaluation effective date from January 1, 1999 to January 1, 1995 as per General Statute 105-286; and WHEREAS, this Board desires to seek fairness and.equity in the distribution of the tax burden in future years (after the January 1, 1995 effective date) by performing revaluations every four years, the first of these to be effective January 1, 1999. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County as follows: 1. That in accordance with the provisions of General Statute 105-286, this Board advances the current scheduled octennial reappraisal to be effective January 1, 1995. 2. That the effective dates of all revaluations after January 1, 1995 be advanced to be effective every four years (the first of which is effective January 1, 1999). 3. That this Board states that adequate funds are available to begin and complete the upcoming revaluation by January 1, 1995. 4. That the Cabarrus county Finance Director is directed to establish the Reappraisal Fund in such a manner that adequate funds will be available to conduct reappraisals every four years aft.~r January 1, 1995 (the first to be effective January 1, 1999). 5.
