DRAFT <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE <br />CABARRUS COUNTY CABLE FRANCHISE COMMISSION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17.1 of the Cabarrus County Cable <br />Television ordinance adopted November 9, 1978, the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners (the "Board") reserved the option to <br />designate a Commission to promote and develop access to cable <br />television within Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board deems that it is appropriate and useful to <br />establish a Cabarrus County Cable Franchise Commission to promote <br />and develop access to cable television within Cabarrus County and <br />to advise the Board regarding issues related to the provisions of <br />such utility services. <br /> <br /> IT IS, THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Board that the Cabarrus <br />County Cable Franchise Commission be and the same is hereby <br />established as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. MembershiD. The Commission shall be comprised of nine <br />members appointed by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. <br />Members shall be residents of Cabarrus County and representation <br />shall be as follows: Township (T) 1 - one member, T 2 - one <br />member, T's 3 and 4 - one member, T's 5, 6 and 7 - one member, T's <br />8 and 9 - one member, T's 10 and 11 - one member, and three at <br />large members who shall reside in areas not served by cable at time <br />of their appointment. Members shall be appointed for three-year <br />terms and may serve two consecutive terms if reappointed by the <br />Board of Commissioners. Initial terms shall be staggered with <br />three appointments for one year, three for two years and three for <br />three years. <br /> <br /> <br />
