III. Briefly describe :he activities that the grantee will undertake over the active period of the grant to af£1rmattvely further fair housing iu their community. A time schedule for implementation of these activities must be included. Activities must be scheduled for ~mplemeutat~on at least on a quarterly basis. (Use additional pages as necessary.) The County has adopted a Fair Housing Resolution which establishes a complaint procedure and establishes the Director of Planning, Zoning and Building Inspections as the authorized official to receive complaints regarding housing discrimination. The Director will acknowledge the complaint within ten (10) days and indicate that it is being filed with the NC Human Relations Council for investigation, conciliation and resolution. The County has developed a pamphlet that summarizes Title VIII requirements and has distributed these to various agencies in the community involved in housing services. This will include realtors, financial institutions and developers. The County intends to arrange to have staff speak before civic and community groups and churchs to explain Title VIII in order to increase the number of individuals familiar with F~ir Housing. The County intends to publish a notice in the local newspaper periodically to inform citizens of both Title VIII and the County's complaint process.
