Day, Budget Officer (~b~'' <br />SUBJECT: FY 1993 Community Based Alternatives Budget Request <br /> <br /> According to the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, Cabarrus <br />County can expect to receive CBA funds equalling $131,507 in FY 1993; the same <br />amount received in the current fiscal year. <br /> <br />The funds are allocated in this manner: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />$10,742 for Psychological & Clinical Services to the Courts, <br />administered by the Piedmont Area Mental Health Authority. The <br />County's contribution to this program is funded entirely by the CBA <br />allocation. <br />$95,900 for the Temporary Shelter Care Project. The Cabarrus <br />County Department of Social Services contracts with Lutheran <br />Family Services to prov/de this mandated service (foster care). The <br />contract amount for FY 1993 is $125,880; $29,980 of which is <br />provided through County funding. <br />$24,865 for Home Based Services. This non-mandated service <br />provides counseling and other services in an effort to prevent foster <br />home placement by the courts (foster home care is a mandated <br />service of the County). The total cost of this program is $39,649, <br />which includes the salary, benefits, and travel expenses for a social <br />worker.
