General Information <br /> <br />Members may serve for three consecutive two-year terms or a total <br />of six years. After a one-year lapse in membership, said member is <br />eligible for reappointment. <br /> <br />Alternates serve for a one-year term. <br /> <br />No Advisory Committee shall be employed by an Agency which is <br />receiving Older American Act funds. <br /> <br />At least 50% of appointees should be over 60 years of age. The <br />Committee meets about once every three months and advises the <br />staff and COG Board on the Area Plan, allocation of funds, etc. <br /> <br />C. Specific Requests <br /> <br />James Graeber has served two terms for a total of four years and <br />may be reappointed for another two-year term if you wish. <br /> <br />Dr. Wallace Early has served as an alternate for one year and may <br />be reappointed for another one-year term if you wish. <br /> <br />Centralina Development Corporation, Inc. <br /> <br />A. Membership <br /> <br />Cabarrus County has three (3) of twenty-five (25) members. They are <br />appointed by the County Commissioners and represent (1) local <br />government (2) local private lending institutions (3) local community <br />organizations (4) business organization (the local government representative <br />may - but need not be a local elected official). <br /> <br />The membership meets once a year (annual meeting) and elects two of the <br />three members of the Board of Directors. The Board meets on the last <br />Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. as needed. The Board in addition to <br />establishing the practices, policies and procedures, reviews loan application <br />from applicants throughout the region. Most members are financially <br />oriented in that they are or have been employed by a bank or savings and <br />loan, they are active in the area of economic development or they have <br />experience in operating a business..w...e encourage the Commissioners to <br />reaDooint as many members as reasonable. It is imperative that the <br />member, if elected to the Board, be willing to actively participate and attend <br />the monthly meetings on a regular basis. <br /> <br /> <br />
