Box 707 <br /> <br />County~nager <br /> <br />Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Dear John: <br /> <br /> In a regular meeting on June 25, 1992, <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission <br />following items: <br /> <br />the Cabarrus County <br />took action on the <br /> <br /> In the first agenda item, the advisory Commission reviewed the <br />proposed revisions in the By-Laws of the Cabarrus County Parks and <br />Recreation Advisory Commission. The Advisory Commission purposed <br />for the elimination of the word advisory in their official title. <br />In some instances, the general public have questioned their <br />authority to recommend policies and regulations for recreation <br />programs and park facilities. According to the By Laws, Article <br />XI, Amendment to By-Laws - The proposed amendment shall been sent <br />to each commissioner (Parks and Recreation Advisory) at least one <br />month prior to the regular or special meeting at which a vote will <br />be taken. Therefore, the Advisory Commission recommended to <br />review the revised By-Laws in their next meeting in July or August. <br />I have enclosed a copy of the proposed revisions for your review <br />and records. <br /> <br /> In the second item on the agenda Under reports, the Director <br />reported the proposed NC 49 widening project could have tremendous <br />impact on Cabarrus County Community Recreation Facilities. The <br />Advisory Commission recommended to announce in the newspapers for <br />the general public to attend one of the two special workshops which <br />are planned for July 7 or 8 at Harrisburg and Richfield. <br /> <br /> Ih the third item on the agenda, the Advisory Commission <br />approved the nomination of Nicole Gundlach of Concord Senior High <br />School as the youth representative to the Cabarrus County Parks and <br />Recreation Advisory Commission. Please present her nomination to <br />the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners during their next <br />meeting.
