The files were organized, current, and neat.
2. Mandatory topics are being met.
3. Staff members' ALS skills are being evaluated adequately.
4. The Audit and Review Committee is pre-approving continuing medical
education. (Reminder- The continuing education proposal for 1993 is due in
our office by December, 1992.)
5. As you are aware, the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners stipulate that
all Advanced Life Support (ALS) certified personnel accrue a minimum of 96
hours of continuing education during each two-year certification cycle. This
education must be in segments of at least 48 hours each 12 months, should
pertain to the individual's level of training, and at least 50% of the credits must
be procured in a didactic setting. It appears that Cabarrus County EMS is
meeting these requirements.

I would' also like to comment that the cooperative continuing education program
that you have established with Rowan County EMS and Rowan-Cabarrus
Community College is innovative and beneficial to the staff of Cabarrus EMS and
Rowan EMS.
