CHARLES A. CANNON MEMORIAL LIBRARY
27 UNION STREET, NORTH
CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025

Date:

MEMORANDUM

July 27, 1992

To:

Susie Bonds, County Clerk

From: Tom Dillard, Library Director

Subject: Nominations to file current vacancies on the Library
Board of Trustees

In their regular meeting held on July 9, 1992, the Board of
Library Trustees reviewed all applications submitted as of that
date for nominations/ appointment to the Cabarrus County Library
Board of Trustees. It is the recommendation of the Board that
Steve Grossman of Concord, a current member of the Board who is
eligible to be reappointed, be appointed to serve a final three
year term. Mr. Grossman is a frequent patron of both the
Kannapolis and Concord libraries and he is currently serving as
the Chair-person of the Library Board. The Board also recommends
that Theresa Wood of Midland be appointed to fill the spot
vacated by Stuart Black of Midland. Mr. Black has served on the
Board since its creation and he cannot be reappointed.

Since it was established by the County Commission in 1985,
the Library Board has been comprised of a single trustee from
each of the following areas: Concord, Harrisburg/western
Cabarrus, Mt. Pleasant/eastern Cabarrus, and Midland/southern
Cabarrus, and three trustees from the Kannapolis/northern
Cabarrus areas.

In reviewing the applications, the Board considered this
geographical composition and recommends that it continue.

copy to: Steve Little, Director
Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Dept.
