Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Dear John: <br /> <br /> In a regular meeting on September 24, 1992, the Cabarrus <br />County Parks and Recreation Commission took action on the following <br />items: <br /> <br /> In the first item on the agenda under reports, Assistant <br />Director Londa Strong presented the results of a public survey of <br />Youth Baseball Parents about the new reorganization concept of <br />Major/Minor. The Program Committee of the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission will present their recommendation during the next <br />Commission's meeting in October. Youth Baseball officals will also <br />be invited to this Commission meeting. <br /> <br /> In the second item on the agenda under reports, Director Steve <br />Little presented a progress report on a proposed public park at <br />Cabarrus County Boys and Girls Club's Camp T.N. Spencer. The <br />Executive Committee will present their recommendation during the <br />Commission meeting in October. <br /> <br /> In another agenda item, the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />heard presentations from nine community groups requesting matching <br />incentive grant funds in the amount of $63,103.00 from Cabarrus <br />County. The Parks and Recreation Commission awarded $35,000 toward <br />these recreational projects for the Fiscal Year 1992-93. Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners approved $35,000 in the FY 1992-93 <br />Budget toward this highly successful program.
