Formal Request For Bids <br />For Cabarrus County Residential Solid Waste Collection <br /> <br />Cabarrus County hereby requests bids to provide the public with residential <br />solid waste collection services. <br /> <br />Program: The residential solid waste collection service currently consists <br />of approximately 7,000 homes. <br /> <br />Collection Area: The collection area shall be all of Cabarrus County lying <br />outside of the incorporated limits of Concord, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, and <br />Mt. Pleasant. <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Ordinance for the Management and Flow Control of Solid Waste: <br />The successful bidder must comply with ail provisions of the Cabarrus County <br />Ordinance for the Management and Flow Control for Solid Waste including the <br />performance bond requirements. <br /> <br />Change in Bid Price: The Cabarrus County Board of Health will consider <br />requests for changes in the initial bid price based upon changes in landfill <br />tipping fees. <br /> <br />Collection Process: Materials must be placed at the curb in a roll-out <br />container provided by the successful bidder. Collection shall be as <br />prescribed in the county ordinance and the containers shall meet the minimum <br />specifications provided in the ordinance. <br /> <br />Info'rmatio~ and Customer Service: The successful bidder shall provide a <br />local telephone number where residents may call during regular business hours <br />for customer service assistance. <br /> <br />Publicity: The successful bidder shall notify all potential customers that <br />the residential solid waste collection services is available through a new <br />contractor as of January 1, 1993. At a minimum, the successful bidder shall <br />post two paid advertisements prominently displayed in the Concord Tribune, <br />Kannapolis Daily Independent, and Cabarrus Neighbors. <br /> <br />If you wish to submit a bid, your bid should be submitted in a sealed <br />package. Please have your bid package clearly marked "Bid Proposal for <br />Residential Solid Waste Collection." One (1) clearly marked original and <br />three (3) copies of the entire package must be submitted to: <br /> <br />John V. Witherspoon, County Manager <br />P. O. Box 707 <br />Concord, North Carolina 28026-0707 <br /> <br />A pre-bid conference will be held in the Board Room at the Cabarrus County <br />Health Department on October 12, 1992, at 10:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Ail bids submitted will be formally opened on October 21, 1992, at 10:00 a.m. <br />at the Governmental Center in the Commissioners' Conference Room. No bids <br />will be accepted after this time. <br /> <br /> <br />
