Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Dear John: <br /> <br /> In a regular meeting on December 1, 1992, the Cabarrus County <br />Parks and Recreation Commission took action on the following items: <br /> <br /> In the first item on the agenda under old business, the <br />Commission reviewed and approved a 9-12 year old Youth Baseball <br />Concept Proposal. This approved proposal outlines the selection <br />process for the major (National) and minor (American) league <br />players and the general rule summary. The major changes in this <br />proposal are requiring tryouts for the National (major teams) <br />players; the elimination of trophies, standings (awarding <br />championships), regular season tournaments; and all participants <br />must play within their school district. Enclosed is a copy of the <br />proposal'for your review. <br /> <br /> In another agenda item under reports, the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission approved a proposal to transfer additional <br />responsibilities to the Volunteer Athletic Association if an <br />Assistant Athletic Supervisor is not approved in FY 1993-94 Budget. <br />Enclosed is a copy of this approved proposal. <br /> <br /> In the first agenda item under new business, the Commission <br />· approved a slate of seven nominations for the three seats on the <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission: <br /> <br />Townships 3-4 <br /> <br />Jim Johnson (Reappointment) Elected chairman <br /> for 1993 Term <br />Charles Mitchell <br />Donald Gray <br /> <br />Townships 5-8 Jerry Hopkins (Reappointment) <br /> Johnny Foil <br /> <br />Townships 9-10 Michael Fox (Reappointment) <br /> Tom Logan <br /> <br /> Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />755 Cabarrus Avenue West · P.O.
