SECTION 5 - PERMITTED INDUSTRIAL USE <br /> <br />5.1 Application <br /> <br />Any person who shall hereafter discharge any nondomestic <br />wastewater into the Authority's sanitary sewers or who desires to <br />discharge any nondomestic wastewater into such sewers shall make <br />application to the Executive Director. Approval will be granted <br />such applicants for a period not to exceed five (5) years when <br />evidence is submitted by the applicant that the discharge of <br />wastewater will comply with this ordinance and applicable State <br />and Federal lawful requirements. <br /> <br />5.2 Eaualization Tanks <br /> <br />In 6rder to equalize flows over a twenty four hour period, each <br />person discharging wastewater into the Authority's sanitary sewers <br />in sufficient volume to interfere with the normal and proper <br />operation of the wastewater treatment system, shall construct and <br />maintain at his own expense a suitable storage tank. Such tank <br />shall have a capacity of at least eighty (80) percent of the <br />normal volume of one (1) twenty four hour production period of <br />wastewater and outlet to the sewer controlled by a waterworks-type <br />controller, cr other approved device, the setting of which shall <br />be directed by the Executive Director. <br /> <br />5.3 Control Manhole <br /> <br />Any person discharging nondomestic wastewater into the Authority's <br />sanitary sewer shall construct and maintain a suitable control <br />manhole to facilitate observation, measurements and sampling of <br />all wast~water including domestic wastewater from the industry. <br />The control manhole shall be constructed downstream from any <br />treatment, storage or other approved system at a suitable and <br />satisfactory location and built in a manner approved by the <br />Executive Director or his designee. <br /> <br />5.4 Measurinc Device <br /> <br />Where a storage tank is not required, the control manhole shall be <br />equipped with a permanent type volume measuring device such as a <br />nozzle, or other device approved by the Executive Director. The <br />manhole shall be installed by the person discharging the wastewater <br />at his own expense and shall be maintained by him so as to be safe, <br />accessible and in proper operating condition at all times. <br /> <br />5.5 Plans <br /> <br />Plans for the construction of the equalization tank, control <br />manhole, controlling devices, and volume measuring devices shall <br />be approved by the Executive Director prior to the beginning of <br />construction. <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br /> <br />
