i <br />I <br />I <br /> SECTION 8 CABARRUS COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> ~.~ $stabllshment of cab~r~us Cou~]ty Planntna al.d zo~inq Comm{ssion <br /> <br /> i In order to eXercise the powers authorized in General StatUte 153A-321,344, and <br /> 345, the cabarrus County Planning and Zoning commission is hereby established. <br /> The Commission shall be comprised of 9 members appointed by the cabarrus County <br /> Board of Conunissioners. Members shall be residents of Cabarrus County and <br /> I 'representation shall be districted as follows: Township (T) 1- one member, T-2- <br /> one member, T's 3 and 4 -orle member, and T's 5, 6 and 7 - on.e member, T's 8 and <br /> 9 - one member, T's 10 and 11 - one member, and three at larger appointments. <br /> <br /> consecutive terms. Initial terms shall be 3 appointments at 1 year, 3 at Z years, and <br /> 3 at 3 years upon initial appointments. <br /> <br /> $. 2 Powers of Commission: The cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> shall have the following duties: <br />I 8.2-1 AS a planning agency, the Cabarrus County Planning <br /> and Zoning Commission shall have the following duties: <br />I (1) Initiate proposed amendments to this order and <br /> ma);e recommendations to the cabarrus County Board <br /> of Commissioners. <br />I (2) Prepare stUdies and plans related to controlling <br /> and creating orderly growth and development of <br /> I the county. <br /> (3) Develop and recommend to the cabarrus County <br /> Board of Commissioners plans, goals, and objectives <br /> I well ordinances and administrative <br /> as <br /> policies, <br /> procedures or other means for can%ting out the <br /> studies and plans of 8.2-1(2). <br />! <br /> (t) Perform any other duties assigned by the Cabarrus <br /> County Board of Commissioners as authorized in <br />I General Statute 153A-321 and 324. <br /> <br /> 8,2-~ AS a board of adjustment, the Cabarrus county Planning <br />I and Zoning Commission shall have the following powers <br /> of duties: <br /> <br />I Hear and decide variance applications as sl~ecifted <br /> (~)tn 8.5. <br /> [2) Hear and decide condition~l use applications as <br />I specified in 8.6. <br /> (3) Near and decide appeals where it is alleged there <br /> <br /> <br />
