Obedience to this ordinance l~ chargeable to the ~erson <br /> actually operating or in control of the vehicle at the time it is <br /> parked on the courthouse Lot;.providedthat proof of ownership of <br /> any vehicle found parked in violation of this ordinance shall he <br /> prima facie evidence t~at said~ owner parked said.vehlcle. <br /> <br /> B. The Sheriff of Caharrus County, or any of his deputies, <br /> or any County employee authorized by=.the County Manager, shall <br /> cause to be attached to'any vehicle parked in violation %f the <br /> provisions of this Ordinance a notice to the owner or operator <br /> thereof to report to the Sheriff's Department in regard to such <br /> violation. ' <br /> <br /> C. Each such owner or operator may, within twenty-four (24) <br /> hot[rs of the time when such notice was attached to such vehicle, <br /> submit to the vlolation and pay, as a penalty in full satisfaction <br /> of such violation, the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00). The failure <br /> of such o%~er or operator to make such payment of said amount, <br /> <br /> twenty-four (24) hours shall render such owner or <br /> the <br /> <br /> operator subject to punishment for a misdemeanor as hereinafter <br /> provided.~ <br /> <br /> D. The violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance <br /> shall be a misdemeanor and punishable by fine not to exceed Fifty <br /> Dollars ($~0.00) or i~prisonmeot not to exceed thirty (30) days, <br /> or. by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the <br /> Court. <br /> <br /> E. any vehicle'parked in violation of this ordinance may be <br /> removed from the property By Cabarrus County or any agent of <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County to a storage area or garage. If a vehicle is so <br /> removed, the owner~ as a condition of regaining po~session of said <br /> <br /> {- vehicle, shall be required to pay to Cabarrus County all reasonable <br />I { costs incidental to the removal and storage of the vehicle. <br /> <br /> F. The Deputy Sheriff on duty at the Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> Sheriff's Department shall accept designated penalties and issue <br /> receipts.
