State Highway No. 73. ~his <br /> i prnpossl presents our understanding of the proposed construction, the of <br /> services we would expect to provide, a cost estimate and a ~it fee schedule <br /> that will apply. This revised pDopossl includes an Addendum tn our Terms end <br /> I Conditious as discussed on April 19, 1991. <br /> <br /> i PROJ F.,~T INFORMATION <br /> The Coddle Creek Dam site is located approximately 700 ft north of where <br /> N.C. Highway 7~ crosses Coddle Creek in western Cabarrus County. North <br /> I Carolina. The proposed dam will be an earth embankment about 2200 ft long <br /> with a crest elevation of 660 feet. Minimum pool elevation of the proposed <br /> water supply reservoir will be 645 ft with 5 foot gates to raise the level to <br /> I 650 feet. The dam will be approximately 47 ft high above the do~mstream toe. <br /> It ~s understood that the dam size classification is large and the hazard <br /> classification is high (Class C). A 500-ft wide emergency spillway is planned <br /> a~ound the east embankment on the east abutment. The control elevation of the <br /> I emergency spillway will be 655 feet. A ~8-inch reinforced concrete pressure <br /> pipe will extend from the intake structure through the dam to the energy <br /> dissipator structure. The east abutment of the dam will cross Rankin Read <br /> I (S.R. 1619) and the reservoir will flood the road for approxL~atmly one mile <br /> north of N.C. Highway 7~. an 0.8 mile section of N.C. Highway 7~ will be <br /> relocated to the south to h/ghat ground. The primary s6~1 borrow a~ea will be <br /> <br /> I the excavation for the emergency spillway. A second borrow source will be an <br /> approx/mately 50-acre area at the intersection o£ Nenkin and Macedonia Church <br /> Hoads which is approximately 2/~ mile north of the dam site. <br /> <br /> <br />
