(b) Source of Water · (1) The source of water for any well intended for domestic use shall be from a water-bearing zone or · i aquifer that is nOt polluted and that does not ~ ~oncain nonpotable mineralized water. '~. (2) The source shall be at least 20 feet below land ';~ (c) Drilling and Casing iS .. (8) The casing in wells constructed to obtain water from an unconsolidated rock formation (such as gravel, sand or shells), shall extend at least to the top of I the va,er-bearing format/on. (9) Except as otherwise specified in these regulations the permanent yell casing shall: I (A) go steel casing. The steel casing must be. new~ seamless, or electrtc-rests£ance welded galvanized steel pipe, equivalent in weight to "standard weight" steel pip, as classified by I the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Each length of steel pipe be,ween the sizes of 1.5 inches and 14 t~ches shall be I legibly marked by rolling, stampling or stenciling to show the name or brand of manufacture and ASTM designation number.
