State Budget Update <br /> <br /> House and Senate Budget leaders, meeting this weekend, were unable <br /> to reach agreement on a budget-revenue package for 1991-93. The Senate's alternative that local <br /> governments receive half of a statewide one cent sales tax but <br /> subject to a 1.5% growth limit and subject to total elimination <br /> after two years - has not changed. <br /> <br /> We uroe local officials to contact members of both the Hous~ and <br /> Senate. reinforc!n~ suooort for the House position and uroina <br /> Senators to contact conferees an~.gommunlcatn nreference for the <br /> local option sales tax.
