I <br />I <br /> i facility for a single development, community, or region. The Stale <br /> of North Carolina considers central sewage disposal systems to be <br /> "Publio Systems". For the purposes of these regulations the <br /> following distinctions are made: <br />i a. "Public Sewage Disposel System" shall mean a single system of <br /> sewage c.o. llection, treatment, and disposul owned and operated <br /> by a sanitary district, a water and sewer authority or <br /> district, a county, or municipality or another public utility. <br /> <br /> i b. "Community Sewage Disposal System" shall mean a privately <br /> owned central sewage disposal system or a system owned by <br /> a community assoeiation. <br /> <br /> I 2. On-Site Selvage Disposal System - a septic tank or similar <br /> installation on an individual lot which utilizes an aerobic <br /> bacteriological process or equally satisfactory process for the <br /> eli~ninalion of sewage and provides fox' the proper and safe disposal <br /> of the effluent, subject lo the approval of health and sanitation <br /> officials having jurisdiction. <br /> <br /> I Z. Subdivider - any person, firm or corporation who subdivides or develops <br /> any land which is a subdivision as herein defined. <br /> <br /> I AA. Thoroughfare - any street designated on the adopted County or Kanlacon <br /> Metropolitan Planning Org'anization Thoroughfare Plan. In the Kanlacon <br /> area these streets are designated as major and minor thoroughfares.
