THE DEPARTMENT AGREES: 1. To select, employ ~und appoint, after consultation with the Board, a County Forester or County Forest Ranger for the purposes of controlling forest fires in said County; for detecting and extinguishing fires that break out; for investigating the origin of forest, woodland and fiel~ fires; for enforcing State forest fire laws; for taking such preventive measures, e4ucational md otherwise, as shall seem n~cessary to prevent forest fires; for 4eveloping aha improving the forests through reforestation, p~ti0n and practice of Forest Management practices; and for protection fr~m insects and diseases. 2. To furnish to each Forester or Forest Ranger ~o employe4 a ba~e of office, stationery and report forms, instructional posters for use in the County, leaflets for distr/buting to landowners and others; to purchase necessary e~uipmento c.-.-?,nication systems, and other Forestry deeme4 necessal-~ insofar as the joint funas will permit. 3. To pay the Forester or Forest Ran~er for all official servines ren4ered, at a fair rate of pay. Rates of pay are to be established by the Depart~m~nt in accordance with existing State salary sche4ules.
